Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Technician to assist in the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of equipment at our biogas plant. The Technician will be responsible for performing routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems to ensure efficient and safe plant operations. Reporting to the Operations Engineer, this role plays a crucial part in keeping the plant running smoothly by supporting the overall production process and adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repairs: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery and equipment, including pumps, valves, compressors, generators, and electrical systems. Ensure that all equipment is functioning properly to support biogas production.
Routine Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Identify and report issues to the Operations Executive, and assist in resolving technical malfunctions in a timely manner.
Troubleshooting: Assist in diagnosing equipment malfunctions and resolving operational issues. Respond to alarms or breakdowns and collaborate with the operations team to ensure minimal downtime.
Monitoring Plant Operations: Help monitor the biogas production process by checking gauges, meters, and sensors. Record data related to gas production, waste output, and other operational metrics.
Safety Compliance: Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Participate in safety drills and report any hazards or safety concerns immediately.
Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Ensure that maintenance logs are updated accurately for audits and operational reviews.
Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory for spare parts and consumables. Notify the Operations Engineer when stock levels are low and help ensure timely reordering of supplies.
Collaborative Support: Work closely with the Operations Engineer, Operations Executive, and other team members to maintain plant efficiency and ensure the safe and smooth running of daily operations.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 1-2 years of hands-on experience in equipment maintenance or plant operations, ideally in renewable energy, waste management, or industrial plants.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems such as pumps, motors, valves, and control panels. Basic understanding of biogas or anaerobic digestion processes is a plus.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues efficiently and effectively.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform accurate inspections, detect potential issues, and maintain detailed maintenance records.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in an industrial environment.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and report issues clearly.
- Team Player: Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and contribute to the overall success of the plant.
