Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Executive to assist in the smooth and efficient functioning of our biogas plant. Reporting to the Operations Engineer, this role will be responsible for supporting day-to-day plant activities, including monitoring operational processes, coordinating maintenance tasks, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The Operations Executive will play a key role in maintaining operational records, supporting troubleshooting efforts, and optimizing plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support: Assist the Operations Engineer in monitoring plant processes, including feedstock input, anaerobic digestion, and gas collection. Ensure smooth day-to-day operations and promptly report any deviations or issues.
Data Collection & Reporting: Gather and maintain data on key performance indicators such as gas production, waste output, and energy efficiency. Prepare reports for the Operations Engineer to support decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
Routine Inspections: Perform regular inspections of plant equipment and systems to ensure they are functioning properly. Assist in identifying potential issues and support preventive maintenance schedules.
Coordination of Maintenance Activities: Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule routine and corrective maintenance activities. Ensure all work is documented and that safety procedures are followed.
Compliance Monitoring: Assist in monitoring and documenting compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards. Ensure that all necessary records are updated for inspections and audits.
Inventory & Supply Management: Track and manage the inventory of plant consumables, spare parts, and equipment. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely replenishment of essential items.
Troubleshooting Assistance: Support the Operations Engineer in diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions or process inefficiencies. Provide on-the-ground assistance during repair or emergency activities.
Safety Procedures: Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental protocols. Participate in safety drills and provide input on improving plant safety measures.
Team Communication: Serve as a communication bridge between plant technicians, maintenance staff, and the Operations Engineer, ensuring smooth coordination of activities and operational updates.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in plant operations, maintenance, or a similar industrial environment, preferably in the renewable energy or waste management sector.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of plant equipment such as pumps, valves, and electrical systems. Familiarity with biogas or anaerobic digestion processes is a plus.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Strong troubleshooting skills to assist in diagnosing operational or mechanical issues.
- Data Management: Experience in collecting, analyzing, and reporting operational data. Proficiency in MS Office or similar data management software.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and prepare reports.
- Safety Focused: Understanding of safety protocols and standards in an industrial setting.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
