Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant/Finance Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks, and preparing monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the financial health of our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording all financial transactions, including expenses, revenue, and payroll.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports, to provide a clear overview of the company’s financial performance.
- Budgeting:
- Assist in developing and monitoring budgets to ensure financial goals are met and resources are utilized effectively.
- Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax and sales tax, and ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, payment processing, and collections.
- Bank Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
- Audit Support:
- Collaborate with auditors during annual audits and ensure all financial records and statements are prepared for audit.
- Financial Systems:
- Utilize accounting software and other financial tools to streamline accounting processes.
- Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and ensure the company’s financial activities are in compliance with legal requirements.
- Administrative:
- Manage monthly payroll, payments to contractors/suppliers, filing of documents and other ad-hoc administrative tasks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in a small business environment.
- Proficiency with accounting software and financial tools.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- CPA or other relevant certification is an added bonus.
