Job Summary

The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of our Biogas Plant. This includes the processing of organic waste from various sources to produce biogas, its subsequent upgrading to biomethane, and ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of biomethane to our gas offtaker. The Plant Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the plant’s productivity, environmental compliance, and employee safety.

 

Key Responsibilities

1.      Operational Leadership:

 

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of plant operations, including biogas production, biomethane upgrading, and distribution.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment, troubleshoot operational issues, and schedule maintenance as needed.

 

2.      Safety and Compliance:

 

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements in the handling of biogas, biomethane, and other materials.
  • Implement and maintain safety training programs for plant staff.
  • Manage compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

 

3.      Production Planning:

 

  • Develop production plans to meet biomethane production targets.
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure production goals are met efficiently.
  • Maintain inventory control of feedstock and biomethane product.

 

4.      Quality Assurance:

 

  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure the production of high-quality biomethane.
  • Conduct quality inspections and product testing as required.

 

5.      Budget Management:

 

  • Manage and optimize operational budgets.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce operational expenses.

 

6.      Vendor and Stakeholder Relations:

 

  • Collaborate with suppliers and partners to ensure a steady supply of organic waste and the efficient delivery of biomethane to the gas offtaker.
  • Maintain good relationships with regulatory authorities and the gas offtaker.

 

7.      Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., engineering, environmental science, or business management).
  • Proven experience in plant management or related roles within the biogas or waste-to-energy industry.
  • Strong understanding of biogas production, biomethane upgrading, and related processes.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and quality assurance standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Budget management and cost-control experience.
